Well last night we had our weekly irrigation of our backyard. Now I must clarify that we are renting this beautiful house with an ENORMOUS backyard at the moment. I really think it is the biggest kept secret in all of Provo! This backyard with its plentiful fruit trees and grass that can almost stretch beyond one's own imagination has become a place for my children to run, jump, climb trees (mostly Sabrina) and basically frolic to their hearts content. Monday always brings an extra facet to the fun when we irrigate, we basically flood the entire backyard. So it is on with swim suits and sunscreen (if I am fast enough) and out to run, slide, jump and play with all the vigor that only children can possibly have! Sabrina, Espen and Mia were the only ones left by the time I got the camera all charged up and working. Spencer had since gone in the house and dried off.
Amongst the trees, grass, bushes and grapevines there lies a rather large and intimidating plot for a garden that could possibly feed the 5000. So we have tried our hand at gardening this year. The children have loved it. Spencer frequently checks on the plants and returns with detailed reports on their progress! So here are some photos of some of our success in the garden. There is also a photo of my city slicker husband who has turned to "farming" with "such grace" that he must be admired! He is my very own Gilbert Blythe--scholastic and handsome, yet can farm with the rest of them :)
Kjaere Mor og Far, og alle in Norge: Dette er fra hagen vaar! Spencer elske aa gaa og se paa gronnsaker! Hilsen fra oss! Savne Dokker saa mye, glad i dokker!
